The Perfect Day One
Important tip! Don't discount the importance of altitude medicine while you get acclimated.
Start your day at the Ollantaytambo Ruins: view the impressive Inca fortress, a testament to the ingenuity of this ancient civilization. The views are unbeatable.
Participate in a weaving demonstration with a local artisan
Take a mountain bike tour around the salt mines of Morais
Head to the Moray Ruins, an Inca ruin that is believed to have been used for agricultural experiments hundreds of years ago.
End your day with a Peruvian dinner at El Huacatay - I was so impressed by the food and atmosphere. It's a can't miss on my list!
Day Two
Visit the Pisac Ruins that overlook the town - take in the panoramic views and enjoy the endless llama and alpaca sightings.
Shop around Pisac Market: where locals sell textiles, crafts, and delicious food. Shop and try some new food - you can easily spend several hours here.
Enjoy dinner at Tres Keros - I tried the alpaca stew (a traditional Peruvian dish) and there were many other amazing options on the menu.
Sacred Valley is packed with beautiful sights, amazing food, and great markets. Stay tuned and visit the blog to learn more about our Peruvian adventure over the next few weeks.
